How to select a sentence or group of words:
  • Click the cursor at the point from where we have to select then press on Shift ` button and go to the point up to which we have to select and click one time.
  • Shift + Moving key (left or right).
  • Double click on the word which we have to select.
  • To select a paragraph, go to the end of the paragraph and click three times.
  • To select a line, click on the left side of the line in line with the ruler.
To move information from one point to another point:
  • Select the information
  • CTRL+ X
  • Then move the cursor to the point where we have to shift the information.
  • Paste it by CTRL+V.
OR
  • Select the information, place the cursor on the selected text and drag the selected part to the desired location.

Cut Command: This command is used to cut the selected information:
  • Select the information
  • Select Home Tab
  • Select Cut tool under Clipboard
OR
  • Select the information and then press CTRL+ X
Paste Command: This command is used to paste the cutting or coping information:
  • Move the cursor position where the cutting or coping information to be pasted.
  • Select Home Tab
  • Select paste tool under Clipboard
OR
  • Move the cursor position where the cutting or coping information to be pasted then use CTRL+ V.
Copy Command: This command is used to copy the selected information:
  • Select the information
  • Select Home Tab
  • Select copy tool under Clipboard
OR
  • Select the information and then use CTRL+ C
Undo Command: This command is used to cancel the last instruction/command given to the computer.
  • Select undo tool on Quick Access Tool bar
OR
  • press CTRL+Z
Redo Command: This command is used to repeat the last undo instruction/command given to the computer.
  • Select redo tool on Quick Access Tool bar
OR
  • Press CTRL+Y
Clipboard: Show the last 24 cutting or coping information.
  • Click on Dialogue box launcher button (right side of the clipboard):
  • It shows recently last 24 cutting or coping information.
How to decrease or increase the font size of selected information:
  • Select the text
  • Press CTRL+] to increase the font size by one point.
  • Press CTRL+[ to decrease the size by one point.
OR
  • Click on font size to under font group.
  • Size of Font: Default: Default is min 8 to max of 72 point
Change case: By using this command we can the selected text in different case. , like upper case (Capital), lower case (Small letter), sentence case, capitalize each word, toggle each word (first letter of each word is a small letter).


How to change the case of selected information:
  • Select the information
  • Select home tab.
  • Click on change case tool under font group.
  • Select any one case on the given list
OR
  • Press Shift + F3:
How to change the color of the selected text:
  • Select the text
  • Select Home tab.
  • Then Click on Font color tool under font group.
  • Select any one color on given color box.
How to highlight the selected text through highlighter.
  • Select the text.
  • Select home tab.
  • Under font group select
  • Select any one color
Superscript: To write the information above the original line is called superscript.
Ex- A23, A2 + B2 1st, 2nd  (Here 23, 2, st, nd in superscript)
  • If you want write A2, at first type A then
  • Select Home tab
  • Select superscript tool in the Font group
OR
  • Press CTRL+ Shift + =
  • Then type 2
  • Again press CTRL +Shift + = to move the cursor in Original line
Subscript: To write the information below the original line is called subscript.
E.g- H2O, NH3, H2SO4 (Here 2, 3, 2 & 4 in subscript)
  • If we want to write H2O at first type H then
  • Select Home tab
  • Select subscript tool in the Font group.
OR
  • Press CTRL + =
  • Then type 2
  • Again press CTRL + = to move the cursor in Original line
Format Painter in clipboard: First of all format a sentence or a part of sentence (e.g. change the font and color of the text). If we wish to does same type of action to another group of words or word then select the part on which we wish to apply the same effect and click on Format Painter in the clipboard?

Use of Paragraph Command:
1) Bullets: By using this tool we can show the selected paragraphs in the form of special symbols.
  • a) Select Home tab.
  • b) Select the paragraphs.
  • c) Click on Bullets tool under paragraph group.
  • d) Select one type of Bullet.
2) Numbering: By using this tool we can show the selected paragraphs in the form of Numbers.
  • a) Select the paragraphs
  • b) Click on Numbering tools under paragraph group.
  • c) Select any one type of Numbering.
How to set the gap between two paragraphs or two lines?
  • Select the paragraph.
  • Select Home tool.
  • Click on line spacing tool under paragraphs group.
  • Select anyone option.
OR
  • Click on paragraph dialogue box launcher button.
        Paragraph window will appear.
  • Under SPACING tab, click on line spacing option. There are six options for changing the line spacing option—Single, 1.5 Lines. Double, Atleast, Exactly and Multiple.
  • Select any one option as your required.
The space between two paragraphs is changed by:
  • Click on the dialogue box launcher in the paragraph section.
  • Within the section of SPACING, change the points in BEFORE and AFTER section, it will change
  • The distance between the mentioned paragraph and the paragraph above it.
  • The distance between the mentioned paragraph and the paragraph below it.
Option of Indentation: It shifts the position of the first line rightwards.
  • Click on the dialogue box launcher in the paragraph section.
  • Go in the Special section of the Indentation—we can change into three options none, first line and hanging (first line hangs over the second line).
Formatting of paragraph:
  • Align Text Left: CTRL + L
  • Center: CTRL + E
  • Align Text Right: CTRL + R
  • Justify: CTRL + J :
  • If we want to start writing from the center of the line, press CTRL + E.
  • If we want to start writing from the right part of the line, press CTRL + R.
  • If we want to start writing from the left part of the line, press CTRL + L.
FIND command: This command is used to search the specified word, sentence or character in your document.

  • Select Home tab.
  • Under Editing group click on Find
OR
  • Press CTRL + F
Find and replace window will appear.
  • Type the specified word in Find what text box.
  • Click on find next button
  • Click on close button.
If we have to find how many times the specified word has been written in the file:
  • CTRL + F,
  • Type the word which you want to find in the Find what text box,
  • Click on the reading highlight button and finally click on highlight all.
  • Click on close button.
Replace Command: This command is used to search a specified word and replace with a new word.
  • Select Home tab.
  • Under editing group, select replace tool
OR
  • press CTRL + H
        Find and Replace window will appear.

  • Type the specified word in find what text box.
  • Type the new word in replace with text box.
  • Click on replace / replace all button.
  • Click on close button.
Go To: This command is used to move the mouse pointer on the specified page number, section number, paragraph number, etc.
  • Select Home tab.
  • Under editing group, click on Find tool.
  • Click on GO TO
OR
  • Press CTRL + G
        Find and replace window will appear

  • Select anyone option like page, section, line, etc.
  • Type page no, line no or section no.
  • Click on Next button.
  • Click on Close button.
